The boy child.
Hey,
it’s been a while, Ey. Life got busy, and I kind of forgot I even own a blog. But today I want to talk about my other gender.
For the past 34 years, men had their chance. They were the leaders, the ones behind big desks, flying around the globe, making big moves. But lately, I’ve noticed something. You walk into offices now, and it’s women behind those desks, HR assistants, accountants, doctors. Maybe it’s because we took over the country, you know what I mean? With a female president, vice president, and so many women ministers. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about.
I’m talking about the boy child. I feel like their lives are at stake. Maybe it’s because most of them are raised by just one figure. Think about it. You look at the street's boys everywhere. You go into prisons boys again. These are supposed to be the fathers of our kids. The protectors. But something’s not right. And yes, stats say men are employed more than women like 10% more. But what kind of jobs? What kind of lives? Is it maybe a generational curse? Or are we just not paying attention?
We talk about gender equality all the time. But are men even involved? Are they part of the healing? Or are they just expected to be strong and silent while the world moves on without them? I’m not saying stop empowering the girl child. Never. I’m just saying don’t forget the boy child. He’s hurting too. He’s confused. He’s trying to find his place in a world that doesn’t always see him.
I’m just a concerned human. And I think it’s time we talk about this. Really talk.
Until next time, Melania.
